Africa’s deep rainforests, endless savanna and tremendous Sahara are a geographical field trip for your students, who will explore spectacular animals, human settlements and iconic images on this visually stunning map of the continent. From the beautiful western Berkshires to the rugged and varied coast of eastern towns, visit and discuss the geography of our state with local and familiar features, and learn something new about our home state.

EarthView instructors lead floor map programs on Fridays. Check as additional dates may become available in May and June. A typical schedule includes 30-minute sessions of interactive instruction, discussion and activities on the map. A floor map can also be added to a globe visit.

School visits are appropriate for all grades, K-12. We tailor our instruction to each grade level. Our program can be themed to align with your curriculum if you choose. Example themes include climate change, physical geography (landforms, plate tectonics, oceans, continental shelf, water resources, etc.) and human geography (migration, culture, major world religions, languages, etc.). We typically touch upon most of these themes in our general program.

Depending on the grade level, 20-25 students per group can participate. Each group visit runs for about 30 minutes, and we can accommodate up to nine groups.

Yes! You can request both a globe and a map when submitting a request form.

The fee for programs facilitated by an EarthView instructor is $500 per visit. Additional fees may be assessed based on the request. The fee for after school/evening programs is $250.

Yes! Floor maps are available as a lending program for those teachers who would prefer to use the maps independently. Maps can be borrowed any day, depending on availability. Borrowing floor maps does not require training and there is no fee.
