Pam Szczygiel, DSW, LICSW began her social work journey in 2003. Following a few years of incredible community-level work in the area of sexual violence prevention, she took a leap into clinical practice. Her clients have been her greatest teachers, always reminding her to stay humble and continuously pointing her back to the clinical relationship as a main catalyst for change. She identifies as a relationally-informed social work practitioner, teacher and scholar. Along the way Dr. Szczygiel acquired certifications in health coaching, yoga and other mind-body-spirit practices. She is currently involved in a multiyear study on social work student mental health and well-being. Each step on her journey continues to influence her current position in the School of Social Work at ÃÄÄïÖ±²¥. It is her greatest honor to teach and learn alongside social work students. In addition to her full time position at ÃÄÄïÖ±²¥, Dr. Szczygiel maintains a psychotherapy practice and specializes in treating social workers and other helping professionals with personal trauma and compassion related stress.
